Day Camp

GROW Day Camp

Summertime holds so much potential—make sure your child doesn’t waste it in front of a screen. Grow day camp provides the opportunity for rising K-5th graders to engage in active play, enriching experiences, and true relationship. Children will enjoy time on our beautiful campus with our top-notch camp staff leading the way. Day campers will engage in a variety of activities—from soccer and flag football to jewelry making and cheerleading—in addition to daily pool time and weekly field trips. Each week is a little different to keep things exciting! New this year is our clubhouse, where campers will enjoy casual games of ping pong, air hockey, board games, and arcade-style basketball. Regular camp hours are 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Before and after extended hours available.

THRIVE Day Camp

Our older campers will appreciate a new vibe on campus this summer. We’ve created Thrive—a group just for rising 6th-8th graders, which will convene separately from the Grow campers. We recognize that middle school is a uniquely different time, so we’ve created a line-up that suits the specific needs of this age group. Activities, scheduling, field trips, choice opportunities, and even leaders will be tailor-fit. Get those tweens off their phones but rest assured that they will be among their peers engaging in real relationships and good ol’ fashioned fun while enrolled in our robust camping program. Several different local ball games, an indoor skating party, and a trip to the movies are just some of the field trips planned for maximum adolescent appeal!

Day Camp Field Trips

Each week GROW and THRIVE day campers will have the opportunity to go off-site and explore the metro-Atlanta area. Weekly Field Trips are a wonderful way to change things up each week and expose campers to unique experiences and locations in the Atlanta area filled with learning and fun!

Here’s what people are saying

about the best summer of their life.

I have the trust that the counselors and staff will love and take care of my kids.

The GACS Grow camp has been a fantastic place for our children to spend their summers. Swimming, field trips, the specialty camps, are all part of the experience that make our kids want to come back year after year. For me, I have the trust that the counselors and staff will love and take care of my kids.

My favorite part is swimming in the indoor pool!

We get to make a name for our camp team and I’m able to play with my friends. My favorite part is swimming in the indoor pool!

"A fun, but meaningful time for each child"

My son and daughter truly enjoy their camp experience at GROW Day Camp. From the contagious smiles of the counselors that greet them in the mornings to the fun times at the pool, this camp finds so many different ways to create not only a fun, but meaningful time for each child.

"GACS Camp a must for our family each year!"

After attending several summer camps over the years, my family always looks forward to the GACS Grow Camp. The staff does a phenomenal job of creating activities to address the spiritual, physical, social, and intellectual growth of the campers. The specialty camp options appeal to all children, regardless of age or interest. GACS Camp a must for our family each year!

FAQS

What does my child need for camp?

• Wear comfortable clothes to play in with good protective shoes. (No Flip Flops except for pool area!)
• Bring bathing suit and towel for swim time, along with any flotation device needs.
• Money for snack time, either on student account or in cash.
• (note: helpful to put money in a ziplock bag or envelope with your child’s name)
• A good attitude, ready to have fun and GROW!

What are the hours for Extended Care AM/PM?

For additional fees per week, you may choose to drop off your child as early as 7:00am and pick up as late as 6:00pm. These times include breakfast for the morning and a snack for the afternoon. See online registration to complete this option for your family.

Do you provide lunch for my child?

YES! Lunch takes place in the Elementary Dining Hall, provided by SAGE. Be sure to note in your registration your child’s allergies and menu needs. A different meal is served each day Monday through Friday.

What is Morning Session?

This is our big morning kick-off. You never know what exciting thing is coming next! We’ve had a stage decorated like a jungle and a tower with a princess trapped inside. This is our time all together as a camp, K4-8th grade; along with specialty camps, too! We sing songs and worship. We learn a bible lesson or work on a memory verse. I hope you hear from your child about what happens at Morning Session.
NOTE: We have dress up days during our weeks at camp according to the theme! This will be announced at the beginning of the week.

Will my child have the option to purchase an afternoon snack?

This will take place in the Spartan Store, via cash or student accounts. You can load money on to your child’s account online. We will monitor 1 drink and 1-2 snacks per child, depending on the snack size. We take this time to eat a snack mid-afternoon with our group and our counselors. It’s a touch point at the end of the day to engage conversation with your child.

Will lifeguards be present at the Aquatics Center for swim time?

YES! At the Freeman Aquatic Center, GROW has lifeguards assigned to work the pool during swim times. These lifeguards give a swim test at the first of the camp week to all campers who desire to swim past the shallow area without a lifejacket or flotation device. Counselors participate alongside campers, swimming in the pool and playing games. Please send your child’s swim gear and a towel marked clearly with their name in a bag they can carry to the pool. If you would like your child to use a lifejacket or flotation device, please send this with them to camp, marked clearly with their name on it. (Note: This is an indoor facility.)

If my child needs a lifejacket or flotation device for open swim time, should they bring that with them?

Yes, if you would like your child to use a lifejacket or flotation device, please send this with them to camp, marked clearly with their name on it. (Note: This is an indoor facility.)
